AIS is also recognized by the Danish educational authorities as it complies with Danish requirements for international schools.

ProfileWith an enrollment now of over 300 students from 34 different nationalities, AIS is fulfilling the Municipality’s goal to provide English language education for children of parents in its growing international and Danish populations.

AIS follows two (PYP and MYP) of the International Baccalaureate’s (IB) educational programmes. The IB is a recognized leader within the field of international education and its programmes can be found in over 4,000 schools across some 155 countries, thus enabling easy transfers for students among these schools.

Both programmes offer an interdisciplinary approach to education which provide students with an understanding of the world around them, how various components interact with each other along with the skills needed for successful interaction as lifelong learners.

Whereas the PYP curriculum focuses on the whole child with an emphasis around essential elements such as attitudes, concepts, knowledge, skills and action, the MYP curriculum covers a range of subjects including language acquisition, language and literature, individuals and societies, mathematics, science, the arts and physical education.
Upon successful completion of the IB’s eAssessment exams at the conclusion of the MYP5 year, the Certificate earned will allow students to enter the highly respected and globally accepted IB Diploma Programme (DP) offered by Langkaer Gymnasium in the Aarhus area.
